Michael Swift, a young Malawian entrepreneur and the owner of the "Malawian Branded T-Shirt" brand, believes his work symbolises pride for the nation.
He said his entrepreneurial journey is driven by the desire to inspire others and show that it is possible to build industries that contribute to Malawi's development.
He said: "I strongly felt there was a need to build a sense of pride in our nation. As a young entrepreneur, I see this idea as a sign for our future. "
He was optimistic about the brand's potential to influence and expand its reach both locally and internationally.
Swift said the possibilities are endless, and he is ready to embrace opportunities that comes with growth.
"The career will eventually influence many Malawians, both at home and in the diaspora, including tourists. I am positive and open to learning as we grow as a brand" he said.
He acknowledged that while most people supported his work with open arms, there were few detractors who criticised his efforts on various social media platforms.
He revealed that his long- term plans include introducing more products to the market and collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism to fully bring his ideas to life.
One of the fashion lovers known as Ray 9 said having a side hustle as a musician helps them to fulfil their needs as an artist and not to look idle.
"We all know that the Malawian music industry does not pay much individually," he said.
